Complete 5000 series Akkerman hydro-mechanical pipe-jacking system for 122, 152, 183, 213, 244, 305, 320, and 365 cm diameter pipes, which consists of main jacking cylinders, power source, hydraulic power pack which transmits the necessary hydroelectric energy to the jacking cylinders, excavating shield and intermediate jacking stations, waste hauling system (consisting of rails, haul buckets, conveyer belt, and hopper), intermediate jacking stations that are used to aid the main power unit and are placed at necessary intervals determined by the length of the jacking and the ground’s physical characteristics, bentonite lubrication system, laser guided slant control situated adjacent to the support wall for jacking, gas detection, ventilation and illumination systems.

Akkerman steerable articulated shield Wheel Machine with a hydraulic maneuverability diameter of 152 cm equipped with dirt cutter heads (for use on clay, silty sand, etc.), carbide cutter heads for soft to medium hard rock, and with sand shelves. The cutter heads and sand shelves may be interchanged, even under ground.

The cutter heads and sand shelves may be interchanged, even under ground.
Akkerman excavating shield with a 213 cm diameter comprised of a backhoe-type excavator with control module. The shield can be used with or without sand shelves. The excavator boom rotates, allowing it to dig horizontally between the shelves. The boom may also be extended to dig well beyond the front of the shield.
Akkerman excavating shield with a 244 cm diameter comprised of a backhoe-type excavator with control module. The shield can be used with our without sand shelves, and it has closable doors to help prevent intrusion of flowing ground. The excavator boom rotates, allowing it to dig horizontally between the shelves. The boom may also be extended to dig well beyond the front of the shield.
